MANCHESTER CITY SEEKS TO RIGHT THEIR WRONGS AGAINST BARCELONA

The UEFA Champions League (UCL) resumes this Tuesday, 1st Nov. 2016 and the Citizens will be battling it out once again with the Spanish reigning giants, FC Barcelona at the Etihad stadium. This will be week four of the UCL.

messi-v-man-cityThe match between FC Barcelona and Man City is no ordinary fixture basing on the fact that Guardiola once coached the team that is visiting him this Tuesday. Guardiola’s return to his former club FC Barcelona was however a night mare to him and the entire Citizens as they were thrashed 4-0 on Wednesday, 19 Oct. 2016 at Camp Nou. Therefore as Guardiola prepares to welcome his former side to the Etihad stadium, he must be wary of this result.

According to Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola says that ‘’Man City must be ready for Lionel Messi’’. Messi opened the scoring for Barcelona and ended up grabbing a hat-trick in a 4-0 win. ‘’Messi spends a match making a mental X-ray of every space, every moment,’’ Guardiola said for a player he managed at Barcelona for four years.

Guardiola made a surprising decision to drop Sergio Aguero at the Nou Camp for tactical reasons; he wanted players to arrive at the box not to stay at the box, but Aguero water marked his importance to City when he notched twice before the break during their 4-0 win at West Brom over the weekend. However Guardiola joked that he is not sure which position the Argentine is going to play.

Hungarian referee, Viktar Kassai has been appointed to oversee Pep Guardiola’s men take on Luis Enrique’s side. The 41-year old Kassai previously officiated City’s trip to the Allianz Arena in 2011 during their first Champions League campaign. The Citizens will live to remember the two penalties the Hungarian denied them before falling to a 2-0 defeat to German champions, Bayern Munich. City have every reason to be wary of this referee for he is also not afraid of pulling out red cards
