Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola must have been experiencing a bloody nose after his side witnessed a six match winless run, his worst as manager. His deep sigh approached as the Cityzens edged the Baggies 4-0 on Saturday, 29 Nov. 2016 during Match day 10 of English Premier League (EPL).
City’s first goal arrived at the 19th minute, thanks to Kun Aguero’s efforts that ended at the back of the net. City and Aguero’s second arrived at the 28th minute after he collected David Silva’s ball and put it past the Baggies’ number one. The two went for the break with the Cityzens lading 2-0.
Iiky Gundogan tripled City’s lead at the 79th minute when he collected Aguero’s reverse pass and fired it past Baggies’ number one and struck the back of the net. By this time it was not wrong to say that the Cityzens had put the game to bed. Gundogan netted in his second for the day and City’s fourth at the 90th minute after slotting in from 10 yards.
Aguero’s clinical first half braces ensured that the visitors ended a six man jinx. Aguero has also been linked with a move away from City after being dropped for a Champions League clash with Spanish giants, FC Barcelona. However Guardiola denied the speculations urging that the Argentine was dropped for tactical reasons.
West Brom Head coach, Tony Pulis told Sky Sports that his side his side was gunned down due to lack of belief. He urged that his side have a lot of work to do to compete for the title. Pulis has witnessed his side struggle against big wigs in the League and plans to set an agenda to end the jinx.
Guardiola during the post-match media briefing told the media that he is delighted with the classy displayed shown by his side and adds that it’s a good way to prepare for a Champions League clash against his side, Barca on Tuesday, 1st Nov. 2016 at the Etihad stadium.
