Just at the 30th second of the match, Pedro was already on the score sheet after collecting a ball over the top, took it past David De Gea and fired into the empty net. De Gea had come out of the goal trying make Pedro not hit the back of the net but all in vain and neither did United’s centre backs, Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly. More plight was inflicted on the Red Devils at the 20th minute after Gary Cahill headed home Hazard’s curvy corner.

After the break, Mourinho sacrificed Fellani for Mata in a bid to sharpen the attacking mid field. However his efforts were futile after Kante and Matic totally captured the mid field.

At the 62nd minute Eden Hazard scored Chelsea’s third for the day and his third for the season. This goal must have proved that Mourinho’s side has lost the game and any goal they would score would be a mere consolation. N’Golo Kante made it 4-0 at the 70th minute and this was the last nail on United’s coffin.

It now implies that Chelsea is unbeaten by United in the last 11 matches in all competetions. They have just lost twice in their last 15 home league games, while United are without an away victory ever since August when Rashford notched an injury time winner against Hull.

Conte admits the win to the strength and desire of the players and adds that he urged his boys to press on the opponent right from the onset. However Mourinho admits that the defeat was largely due to defensive errors.

Sky Sports football pundit and former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry claims that Chelsea had something to show to Mourinho. He showered praises on Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante for totally taking control of the mid field.

What still puzzles football pundits is the capability of Ibrahimovic and Pogba. These two were the most feared men just before kick-off. However throughout the entire game, little delivery was done by this duo hence letting the Red Devils down. Pogba concentrated on the attacking mid field instead of concentrating on the holding role hence exposing the back four.

Chelsea is to face West Ham on Tuesday, 25 October 2016 while United faces rivals, Man City on Wednesday, 26 Oct. in the EFL tie.
