After whipping Chelsea 3-0 during the West London derby at Emirates stadium over the weekend, Arsenal has continued with their fine form basing on the fact that they are now unbeaten in their last eight matches; only losing to Liverpool during their first match of the 2016/2017 season. Arsenal have also kept three consecutive clean sheets and putting nine goals at the back of the net just in three games.

The trio, Sanchez, Ozil and Walcott was too much for the hosts as they gave them a bloody nose. Santi Cazorla proved to be the king of the mid field as he surpassed every one on the pitch with the number of passes (94 passes) while centre backs Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi were wholly untroubled since Basel’s mid field was weakened so there was no way they could circulate balls to the attackers.

On giving his post-match remarks Wenger praised his side for delivering a quality game and he added that the win was very comfortable. Wenger also urged that their still need for improvement since the season is still fresh. Arsenal will travel to Burnley on Sunday, 2nd October 2016 and they will look forward to continuing with their fine form and maintaining their unbeaten run.

Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich were also in action and as usual it was a fierce clash. Yanick Carassco scored for the Spanish side at the 35th minute and this was the only goal for the match hence earning them a well deserved victory. Had Antonio Griezman not missed a penalty, the goal margin would be 2-0. Bayern had most of the ball but Atletico defended superbly. Atletico are now unbeatable in their last three meetings with Bayern. Atletico are also unbeatable in their last eight UCL home games.
